He received formal training at the Columbus College of Art & Design while pursuing a career in graphic design, and is currently employed as a graphic designer at AB&C. Au’s major influences include Edgar Degas, John Singer Sargent and Andrew Wyeth.

An award-winning artist, Quaintance is an accomplished landscape and figurative painter. Retiring in Jupiter, Fla., and a frequent visitor to the Bahamas, Quaintance creates Florida landscapes and Bahamian figurative paintings. He studied at the National Academy of New York and has exhibited at the Salmagundi Club and New York Pastel Society. Quaintance is an active member of the North County Arts Association.
