AB&C Names Shari Short Director of Strategic Research

Wilmington, Delaware — Aloysius Butler & Clark (AB&C) announced today that Sharon L. (Shari) Short has been named director of strategic research.

The social marketing manager at AB&C since 2006, Short has been responsible for developing social marketing campaigns and supplemental collateral materials, as well as consulting with clients on emerging issues and healthcare trends. Based on her extensive experience in research and program development, Short’s role has been expanded to provide clients with strategic initiatives based on research findings.

Her work includes recommending, developing and applying market research techniques to determine the most appropriate target audiences and strategies for campaigns; using qualitative data to provide strategic insight on consumer attitudes, motivations and barriers toward behavior change and product use; developing innovative data techniques; and educating clients on market research methodologies.

Before joining AB&C, Short held positions as partnership program coordinator for the National Cancer Institute, AIDS/HIV strategic planner for the Virginia Department of Health, director of education for AIDS/HIV Services Group in Charlottesville, Va., project director for the University of Virginia Department of Psychology, and staff member of the Commission on Family Violence Prevention in Richmond, Va. In addition, she held competitive internships with the Children’s Television Workshop (now Sesame Street) and the National Parenting Association (now the Center for Work/Life Policy).

Short earned her bachelor’s degree in cinema studies from New York University, Tisch School of the Arts, in 1992, and received her Master’s degree in developmental psychology from Columbia University, Teachers College, where she was an honors student and fellow in the Center for Infants and Parents. In 1998 she was selected as one of three national fellows for the Price Fellow for HIV Prevention Leadership and spent a month working with the Division of HIV/AIDS at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta, Ga.
