Scouting for scouts. | This year, the Boy Scouts of America celebrate their 75th anniversary. But a dwindling enrollment of new Cub Scouts caused a regional council to send up smoke signals to AB&C. After a powwow with the recruitment committee, we recommended a TV campaign as the most effective way to reach elementary-school-age boys (and their parents) with a “scouting is fun” message. We showcased a cross-section of current Cubs engaged in a variety of cool activities. Enrollment is up 11% since the spots debuted. | Shoring up supply lines. | Keeping physicians and health professionals current on all the latest cancer-fighting resources can be a daunting task. The Delaware Cancer Consortium and the Delaware Division of Public Health came to AB&C with that very challenge. We created an updatable kit that features every screening, testing and treatment program available statewide. Doctors can even order free brochures about available cancer programs via an enclosed faxable form. The kits were recently distributed to attendees at the annual meeting of the Delaware Medical Society. | Building a better website. | Architectural and engineering firms know a thing or two about “form and function.” When two such companies joined forces, they called on AB&C to create their new logo and identity. We were also challenged to design and produce a stylish yet functional website where StudioJAED clients could review various building projects and client-generated research data. | Shopping for patients. | When Abington Memorial Hospital underwent a major expansion, AB&C went beyond print ads and an on-site promotion to help introduce the new features to consumers. Research showed that a nearby upscale shopping mall shared the same demographic target audience as the hospital, so we formed a unique partnership with Willow Grove Park Mall. The mall component of the promotion features a dozen six-foot-tall banners—starring physicians, nurses, volunteers and food service workers—that tout the many conveniences of Abington’s new expanded facilities. |
